Yet To Be !
VELMA, THE 1986 VIXEN!!! (Sold summer of 2012).
When not sailing...we enjoy traveling in Velma the Vixen, our land yacht. A Vixen is the perfect (for us) RV. Vixens were made only for a few years, 1986-89. Ours is unit number 259 and is a 1986 TD 21. The "TD" means it is powered by a BMW 524 turbo diesel, 5 speed engine. Most importantly, this also means that we get 25-30 mpg....! The "21" indicates Velma's length, 21 feet. This is the coolest RV ever with a lift top that increases our interior head room. We love our unit and the owners group and their activities. Ken flew to Salem, MA to buy our unit at the end of May, 2008. We then worked on her mechanics and aesthetics! But, not all work, as the summer of 2008 included 2 longs trips. One journey took us out and back to Mount Rushmore and another to the annual Vixen Rally in Cincinnati, Ohio. What fun. Land dog Mac loved going with us. Cindy and Mac fit perfectly on the front seat. Sadly we lost Mac to cancer in October, 2008. Now it is Miko who loves traveling in Velma. For more information about the Vixen, see www.vixenrv.org.

Trips in Velma, the Vixen!

June 25 to July 3, 2010 - Brunswick to Tallahassee, Sarasota, Disney, back home to Brunswick Ga.

June 9 to June 15, 2010 - Brunswick to Greenville to visit family and friends.

September to October 2010 - Brunswick to Tallahassee, Rome Ga, Louisville Ky, Wisconsin, Chicago, and national rally in Springfield, Greenville SC, Summerville SC, back to Brunswick.

July 30 to August 4th, 2009.....Brunswick, GA to Sarasota, FL to visit Cindy's family. We stayed in Sun N Fun campground and as usual, enjoyed their facility. It was another great time with Cindy's mom, brother and his family (Bruce, Nancy, Brad and Tara). So nice to once again spend time with them all. And, Miko got to meet her new puppy cousin, Brandi, Nancy's new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel....a cutie. Miko also went back out to her favorite Sarasota park at the marina...but none of her former buddies were there.

June 6th, Saturday to July 23rd, 2009...We went to Greenville SC area for many events. For a week we stayed at Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville and then moved to Solitude Point in Cleveland, S.C. We celebrated Audrey's 6th birthday, attended Ken's daughter's (Jessica) wedding and caught up with Greenville friends. After the wedding in Cleveland, we moved down to a Corps of Engineers park, Springfiield Campground, on Lake Hartwell. We camped with Audrey for a couple days and spent time with Skip/Carol and Marie Armstrong. We planned to move to a park further south in SC and were heading that way. But, received a call from our neighbors telling us that flood waters were entering our basement. So, decided to cut the camping short and head home.

May 2009 - 27th, 28th. We took Velma to Tallahassee to see nieces Anna and Sarah Beth graduate from high school...very fun
