Ken and Terry's Adventure on Yet To Be
03/24/2017 - At day break, final items were carried to YTB. The morning's conditions were PERFECT....high tide, low wind, clear skies. After wiping down the dew on the eisenglass, engines were started and lines thrown off. A beautiful sunrise greete the guys as they pulled off the dock and headed from Terry Creek to the Back River. Just after lunch, Yet To Me arrived at Cumberland Island, Georgia safe and sound. The transit throught the "skinny" area behind Jekyll Isalnd went fine and crossing St. Andrew Sound was a little choppy, but done with no issue. Wind picked up mid day to 10-15 knots.
03/25//2017 YTB departed Cumberland Island and landed south of the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine. Guys stayed aboard this evening.
03/26/2017 Coninued south and anchored Daytona....dropped dinghy for the first trip off of YTB this eve. Had some beers and got a pizza to go.
03/27 and 3/28/2017 south through Mosquito Lagoon...had a pod of dolphins play along the hull near Titusville. Anchored north east side of the bridge that goes from old Cocoa Village to Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach. Dropped the dinghy and headed in to Doc's Bait House....a favorite place for some cold beers! On Monday, 3/28 did a practice run of putting dinghy up top with the crane. It was successful test. Went to old Cocoa Village for some doughnuts and a visit to the hardware store. Traded in old binoculars for new ones at West Marina...they honored the 10 year limited warranty so only had to pay around $30 for a nice new pair. Terry went to Publix while Ken ran back to the boat to get the old pair of binoculars to take back to West Marine.
03/29/2017 Left Cocoa area (bye bye Doc's, frowny face) to go to Ft. Pierce...a long day this one. A stop first at the marina for fuel and water, then back out to the anchorage in front of the draw bridge. Notorious for poor holding, Cindy was concerned! We purchased YTB in Ft. Pierce, so she was home visiting.
03/30/2017 Long trip planned this day
